We pair new hires with a mentor to guide them through their introductory period. This is a full-time, hourly position, working 4 ten hour shifts per week.The Oncology Technician Caregiver assists the Oncologist in delivering precise and efficient patient care. He/she ensures smooth patient flow and conducts various procedures, including radiographs, lab work, and chemotherapy administration. This role is expected to have significant and compassionate client communication: in-person, phone calls and electronically. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills. The technician is also responsible for thorough and accurate medical documentation in the hospital's PIMS and Whiteboard systems. • Facilitate the doctors schedule to align with patient care needs.
• Timely, thorough and accurate patient care client interactions including collecting history for appointments and medication management and refills.
• Ensuring a smooth and excellent client experience through communication, schedule management, and answering questions/concerns.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, and sample submission.
• Perform general anesthesia and sedation monitoring for procedures
• Appropriately handle chemotherapy medications per hospital standards
• Proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture skills
• Administer chemotherapy treatments as directed by Oncologist
• Maintains hospital cleanliness by performing general cleaning duties: Laundry, sweeping, mopping, etc.
• Other duties as neededSkill Requirements:
  • Strong ability to multitask and anticipate needs.
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal.
  • Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.
  • Venipuncture skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and team members. Minimum Qualifications:
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • At least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience required. Preferred Qualifications:
      • Pennsylvania Certified Veterinary Technician certification is preferred but not required.
      • At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Specialty Hospital. Experience running anesthesia.
      • Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending. It also requires routine lifting and restraining of animals that exceed 50 pounds.
