Job Description:
About the facility A health system is seeking a psychiatrist for
locum tenens coverage. About the facility location From museums and
theaters to skiing and whitewater rafting, the list of things to do
in Eastern PA is endless. About the clinician's workday The role is
for a consultation liaison psychiatrist who can also work on the
inpatient psychiatric unit, in the emergency department, and on
medical floors as needed. The candidate must be Board Certified and
experienced with conditions such as delirium, dementia with
behavioral disturbances, post-suicide attempt care, capacity
evaluations, agitation management, substance withdrawal,
depression, and comorbid medical issues. The team includes another
psychiatrist, APPs, social workers, care coordinators, and crisis
clinicians, with additional support from psychiatric techs, nurses,
other psychiatrists, a nurse manager, and a medical director on the
inpatient unit. The position is not open to telepsychiatry and
requires managing an average of 4-5 new patient consults and 4
follow-up consults per day, with hours from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday
through Friday. The locum provider is responsible for admitting
